Doug Alcock has been a grad student in Political Theory, a produce clerk, a journeyman painter, a contractor, a computer programmer, a data analyst and a beachcomber. The one constant has been playing music on a now-battered Martin guitar. Doug has been playing for over thirty years and writing songs for more than fifteen. In early 2006 he decided, that since he clearly wasn't going to stop playing music, he should share it with the world. Since then he's been playing regularly in the Greater Toronto area --- at Open Mic's, bars and Canada Day festivities and adding to a burgeoning email list of fans.

In September 2006 Doug started rehearsals with a band consisting of banjo, keys, and bass. This project culminated with a live recording at the Moonshine Cafe in Oakville --- which has now been released as Doug's first CD. The CD consists of eleven of Doug's original songs; songs that have been described as "simple human stories" by one commentator and "really approachable" by another. Please listen for yourself and see....

Doug has recently reformed the band -- consisting of Scott Cooper on banjo, Mark Collis on bass and Christina Mulligan on keyboards. They are currently working on Doug's second album and looking forward to an upcoming live show in May.
